Our role has evolved through the years to drive societal good in Singapore, Asia, and beyond.
Establishing Our Foundation
In 2007, Temasek Holdings established Temasek Trust to steward philanthropic assets and gifts from Temasek and other donors, and Temasek Foundation to catalyse impact by curating and developing community and social programmes.
This separation of roles enables both entities to maintain clear focus and capabilities, a structure that endures today. TF International was the first foundation to be set up, followed by TF Cares in 2009.
Setting New Mandates
A family of Foundations was launched to address emerging needs in Singapore and Asia. In 2016, Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory joined our ecosystem, followed by Stewardship Asia Centre in 2017.

Building Our Ecosystem
Temasek Trust became a CLG, forging new pathways in sustainability, impact investing, and philanthropy, as a trusted advocate and proactive catalyst. We began investing in third-party funds, establishing ABC World – now ABC Impact, part of Temasek Trust Asset Management – to manage impact investments.
Temasek Shophouse and Mandai Nature joined our ecosystem. In 2020, Temasek Foundation unified its various structures under one foundation.
Forging New Pathways
We are building ecosystems for good with like-minded partners, accelerating our collective impact for a better tomorrow. In 2022, we established the Centre for Impact Investing and Practices to strengthen impact accountability through better management and measurement practices.
In 2023, we launched the Philanthropy Asia Alliance to foster collaborative philanthropy, Co-Axis to connect impact projects with funders, and the Asia Centre for Changemakers to build capacity and capabilities in Asia’s philanthropic ecosystem.
In 2024, we set up TT Foundation Advisors to be Asia’s one-stop provider for philanthropic advisory and management services. Looking ahead, we aim to catalyse and enable a vibrant philanthropy and impact ecosystem in Asia and beyond.
