A week of ideas, partnerships, and pathways to scale

The Philanthropy Asia Summit (PAS), co-located with Ecosperity Week in Singapore from 18–21 May 2026, brought together leaders, innovators, funders, and practitioners to explore how innovation, capital, and cross-sector collaboration can help address pressing challenges across Asia and beyond.

Organised by the Philanthropy Asia Alliance and supported by Temasek Trust, PAS 2026 welcomed over 2,500 delegates, with discussions spanning climate, health, inclusive development, philanthropy, and impact finance.

The week also drew on the breadth of the Temasek Trust Collective, with various organisations contributing to sessions and programming. Key platforms included the Impact Investing Roundtable, led by the Centre for Impact Investing and Practices and Temasek; The Liveability Challenge by Temasek Foundation; the World Bank Agenda at Temasek Shophouse with the World Bank Group and PAA; the Leaders’ Breakfast convened by the Asia Philanthropy Circle, AVPN, and Temasek Trust; and the ASEAN Power Grid convening, jointly hosted by Temasek Trust and Singapore’s Energy Market Authority.

Across these convenings, one message was clear: innovation alone is not enough. To scale, solutions need trusted partnerships, patient capital, enabling policy, strong delivery systems, and platforms that connect diverse actors around shared outcomes.

Organised around Temasek Trust’s four strategic priorities of Planet, People, Peace, and Progress, our insights report captures key ideas and developments from across the week. It explores what it takes to scale solutions in practice — from advancing clean energy, ocean-climate action, and low-emission rice, to strengthening One Health preparedness, inclusive development, catalytic capital, and innovation ecosystems.

Key takeaways

  • Asia is emerging as a source of scalable solutions across climate, health, food systems, and inclusive development.
  • Systems change is increasingly central to the impact agenda, with challenges such as energy security, food resilience, healthy ageing, and climate adaptation requiring integrated action.
  • Philanthropy plays a catalytic role beyond funding — as convenor, risk-taker, trust-builder, and early mover.
  • Scaling depends on implementation infrastructure, including policy alignment, credible data, delivery capabilities, community legitimacy, and fit-for-purpose financing.
  • Shared platforms are strategic assets, helping align capital, knowledge, partnerships, and action across sectors and geographies.
