Mandai Nature — Impact Report 2022/2023

25 Aug 2023

Mandai Nature, the conservation arm of Mandai Wildlife Group and part of the Temasek Trust ecosystem, has released its inaugural impact report.

The report highlights the actions and contributions towards biodiversity conservation in Singapore and Southeast Asia collectively achieved in the financial year 2022/2023 by Mandai Nature with the support of its stakeholders and partners on the ground.

In the past year, Mandai Nature invested over S$3.6 million in nature protection. Other significant milestones include the establishing of the IUCN SSC Centre for Species Survival: Southeast Asia, the first centre of its kind in Asia, and the convening of the Southeast Asia Climate and Nature-based Solutions (SCeNe) Coalition.

Mandai Nature’s support has enabled field programmes and research for more than 40 conservation projects in Southeast Asia, with a focus on non-marine vertebrates, which are among the region’s most threatened wildlife. They include species like the Southern River Terrapin and Rote Snake-necked Turtle.

These conservation efforts have positively impacted over 50 threatened Southeast Asian species, and five of the projects were expanded to include ecosystem restoration and nature-based solutions for climate and community development.

Mandai Nature is dedicated to advancing efforts on biodiversity conservation in Asia, with a focus on averting species extinction. To learn more, check out its website, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
